On November 28 2025, around 5:40 a total of three people (an adult male, female and a 16-year-old female) were caught in a crossfire at Westfield Valley Fair Mall, located at 2855 Stevens Creek Boulevard. Since there were a lot of agencies around Westfield, the SJPD were able to take the three wounded people to the hospital and prevented any further injuries or mishaps.
News reporters informed that the suspect and the adult male were in an argument with one another before the suspect took out their firearm around their waistband and shot many rounds… eventually injuring the innocent females in the crossfire including the male. SJPD states that “Initial information revealed the incident to be gang- motivated but it is still getting officiated at the moment."
Since yesterday night, SJPD have been on high alert around the bay area of San Jose to try to find the suspect that shot the three innocent people. SJPD Chief Paul Joseph says, “To reassure our community, we are increasing patrols throughout this weekend while our Detectives continue their focused work to identify and locate the individual responsible. I have full confidence the suspect will be brought to justice swiftly.” This has brought people a lot of relief and reassurance for the situation.
Mayor of San Jose Matt Mahan stated, “The person who caused this pain and fear will not get away with it, we will find them and they will face their crimes.”
Leslie Llanos felt very thankful and blessed of the SJPD because she was there with her kids doing Christmas shopping around the same time this incident happened.
Llanos said, “I was terrified and really worried that there was an active-shooter around me and my family. Thankfully the situation ended very quickly since the police department arrived very much on time.”
San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan also wanted to give thanks to the SJPD and more by saying, “Thanks to our SJPD officers for responding very quickly and to the Valley fair employees and neighbors who opened their shops, their garages and their homes to protect those fleeing.”
Santa Clara Police Department heard the news and were thankful enough to share this statement. “Valley Fair is our shared place, and its safety is our shared duty. This seamless partnership reflects regular cross-jurisdictional drills and shared commitment to the safety of both communities. Together, we will keep training and keep investigating, in order to keep both cities safe.” said SCPD Police Chief Cory Morgan
People of the San Jose area gave thanks to all of SJPD and Valley Fair Employees for helping all they could. Without SJPD, the whole incident could have gotten a lot worse.
