Titan Tribune Reinvents Itself Under New Management

Welcome to the Titan Tribune — John F. Kennedy’s official student-run newspaper, advised by Mr. Tagami. Our goal is simple: to keep our community informed, inspired, and connected. Here, you’ll find information ranging from local school events to international happenings. Whether it’s highlighting a championship win, diving into important issues, or sharing stories that make you laugh, the Titan Tribune is here to be your voice. Jenny Li (12), our editor-in-chief, states, “I joined Titan Tribune because last year’s editor-in-chief was my close friend and he asked me if I wanted to do it with him, so I gave it a try! As editor-in-chief, I communicate with Mr. Tagami, assign tasks, film for Titan Report, check on members, find members, format the newspaper, and make sure everything is running smoothly.This year, since there is a journalism class, we have a wider variety of articles, started the Titan Report, have shadow officers, and can print hard copies to hand out.” Khanh Do (12), the Managing Editor, further commented, “I joined Titan Tribune because I wanted creative control and a leadership position in the newspaper. I’ve done it before and bring something to the table this year. We’re still trying to establish order back into the club. That ranges from publicizing the newspaper to creating a more efficient way of picking articles. This year, the team is much more focused and the work is evenly divided. I’m really excited for printed versions this year because this hasn’t happened in years.” Mr. Tagami, the club’s adviser, stated, “I decided to be the advisor because I love seeing students voice issues and wanted them to have a platform. With my journalism experience, I decided to take the position. A digital newspaper really helps this club stand out because students always have something to refer back to. Having strong editors who communicate well really separates the Tribune. It’s a voice for the campus and community.”

This year, Titan Tribune will have two printed editions, monthly serializations, and interviews in every article! The website is revamped by being more interactive, live interviews in the form of Titan Reports, and a whole new paper format. We’re excited to grow our team, expand coverage, and create a space where every student feels heard.
